About this project…

Blogs are all over the internet now — there are millions of them. And there are a lot of blogs out there that are not in good taste. I wanted to give our students a chance to create something good — something on the Internet for which they will be responsible in maintaining. I thought of going through the usual project of creating a personal website — but decided to go the direction of blogging. With blogs, students do get a personal website and they get to write, read, and learn along the way — much more, I think, than what they would get in a typical web-creation/HTML class.

So, for the 3rd quarter of school year 2005-2006, one of the two 6th grade classes (2012) of St. John’s School became the pioneer bloggers. This blog is their “blog activity page” where blog assignments, ideas, and others are posted. All students in the blogging class created their own blogs through LearnerBlogs.org — a free service for K-12 students. We are all learning and enjoying along the way …
