February 21st, 2006 by stjohnsThere is a student (or students) who has been disrespecting our blogs and blogs of other schools. Since this student (or students) has broken our Golden Rule on blogging — cause no harm — then we will STOP the blogging project until this issue is resolved.
We will still have computer class, but we will no longer use the blogging system. All blogs will be closed until this issue is resolved.
This is a sad day for 6th grade blogging — one that I hoped teaching you in class about blogging etiquette would have avoided.

I am sorry this has happened Mr Maiquez and students.
I hope the student owns up and the project is reinstated as soon as possible.
This puts a great shake in me. I have had a great time sharing in your successes the past month and you have brought a lot to the world of edublogging.
I hate to think what has happened.

Thank you for all your comments, BronwynG. My students always enjoy reading from our “frequent visitor”. Hopefully we will not be down for a long time. Perhaps when we go back up, you can comment about blog etiquette education. I do that in class and in small group talks in the class. It seems to be a challenge to do the right thing. Nonetheless, I shall keep trying to make the students realize that it is important to be respectful in blogs . Again, thank you for all your responses to my students’ blogs. I will notify you when we are back up and running again.
