Hello there! I am really very excited with this new technology that we have! I love blogging because it helps open the lines of communication between student and teacher. Thank you to the students who have responded already. I love your suggestions and your comments gave me an insight on how you personally feel about the class. This helps me as a teacher because it helps me plan and pace the lessons and it also gives me an opportunity to share with you my reasons on why we do the things we do.
So, for your Social Studies homework (and those who have responded already, you are DONE!), comment on my blog on “The Learning Battle”. For those who have commented already, you may read my response and comment on that for extra credit!

Okay MMXII bloggers … I invite you all to go to the LearnerBlogs page and post a comment. A few suggestions:
- You may begin your comment by thanking MR. JAMES FARMER for offering this free service to students like you.
- You can talk about what you’re doing at St. John’s — the blogging activities — and you can invite others to go to our main blog (stjohns.edublogs.org).
- You can leave a comment on why you think blogging is good for students like you and how you have been using blogs in school.
- You can ask questions on your comment — questions about blogging or how to do certain things on the blogs.
*** Just be careful and proofread what you typed BEFORE your send your comment!!!

Okay … this is just an experiment (just like the Class MMXII Blog is an experiment). We have a new blog. This blog isn’t like our usual generally text-based blogs. This blog … is … a … “SplashBlog”! This is a photo blog service that’s also free (just like LearnerBlogs) to use. I have created one that we can use for class. I’ve posted your pictures on the SplashBlog! (”WHAT! Mr. Maiquez posted our pictures? But he told us NEVER to post our pictures!!! What’s happening?!?!?!”) Don’t fret just yet! Go to the blog and you’ll see what kinds of pictures I’ve posted. BRING ME TO THE BLOG NOW!
*** After visiting the SplashBlog, tell me what you think of it — post comments to this entry — and share your thoughts on what we can do as a class to make our SplashBlog grow.
- What can we do to improve it?
- What activities do you suggest we come up with for which we can use the SplashBlog?
Hope to hear from you soon!

You have all been blogging at LearnerBlogs for almost a month now and I have to tell you this: I’m very happy with what you have accomplished, how you have been respecting the blogging activities, and how you have been working on improving your writing skills! Give yourselves three pats on your back (Pat! Pat! Pat!) Keep up the great work and … KEEP BLOGGING!
