Read their entries and comment on AT LEAST (you can comment on more) one entry for each of those six classmates. Since each of you will receive a comment from your classmates, you have to comment back on those comments, thanking them appropriately for leaving you a message.

Some time this week (you have a lot of time!) have your parent/s, teacher/s, guardian/s, older sibling/s, or relative/s read your blog. Ask them to comment on a few of your blog posts. What do they think about your blog? Do they have a blog on their own? If they don’t, invite them to create one. They can go to www.wordpress.com to do this. The blog is FREE. Check your blog and approve the comments if they are okay for you.

What do you think is the significance of celebrating the different animals attached to the years in the Chinese Zodiac? What do you think of the description of the year of the dog? If you know someone who was born in the year of the dog, does the description on the website fit the personality of this person you know?

Write about the lion dance you saw today at the gym. How did you like the dance? Who performed the lion dance for us? What do you think the lion dance is for? What do you think the significance of the lion dance is for Chinese folk or for those who celebrate the Chinese New Year? What do you think is the importance of celebrating one’s heritage?

It seems everyone’s link to the logos isn’t working. I suggest taking out the link as it might be confusing to your blog visitors.

The 6th grade blogs are looking great! for those of you who feel they are blog masters at this point, go ahead and share your knowledge and expertise. Help a classmate who might be having a tough time adding graphics into their blogs. Assist someone who is having difficulty in writing for their blog. Just remember class: always check what you write before submitting. remember the Golden Rule in blogging: “cause no harm to others.” For assignment #4, create a blog about your Social Studies (S.S.) class. What are you doing in S.S.? What topics are you covering? What have you learned so far? How do you see this as being helpful in your life now as a pre-teen ager?
